QR codes to help tourists, received information on sights in 12 languages
Uzbekistan launched a VERUM QR project, which will allow tourists to get information about the sights of the country with the help of special QR-codes in 12 languages, the press service of the State Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The chairman of the State Tourism Committee Aziz Abdukhakimov said that the modern tourists use the modern technologies to get information they need, first of all using smart phones.
He underlined that today the concept of SMART-tourism is developing rapidly in the world and for the first time a technology of using QR-codes will be presented in Uzbekistan. Within the framework of this project, it is envisaged that the tourist, in a matter of seconds, receives all information on tourist sites and attractions in Uzbekistan in a convenient and accessible form in 12 languages on the smartphones, pointing his smartphone to a QR-code picture.
“At the same time, the users will be provided with information not only about the tourist site itself, but also about the nearest objects: hotels, restaurants, art galleries and other architectural and historical monuments,” he added.
The State Tourism Committee and Tehno Dargoh Ltd. already in pilot mode implemented and tested the system in Khiva.
