COVID-19 Rules for arrival to Central Asia

We haven’t published any rules and requirements on COVID-19 for travelers to Central Asia on our website. The rules were very individual from country to country and volatile in terms of flights, tests and quarantine options.  So most of our information had been provided upon request with double checking and confirmations from official sources

Due to the decrease in the number of diseases in the world and vaccinations of a large number of citizens, today there is a tendency of softening quarantine measures and rules for entering the countries of Central Asia. We hope the following brief information will be useful and most importantly, relevant for the near future. We also ask you to always double-check any information related arrival and departure with your tour operator for relevance in order to avoid serious inconveniences in your trip.

UZBEKISTAN - The Special Republican Commission for the fight against Coronavirus has issued a protocol according to which citizens of all countries entering the Republic of Uzbekistan are required to present a negative test result for coronavirus carried out by the PCR method no later than 72 hours before departure, except for children under 2 years old. This certificate must be issued in Russian or English, and issued by laboratories recommended and meeting the standards of the Republic of Uzbekistan. You can find a list of such laboratories here (http://sanepid.uz/oz). It is also worth noting that a certificate of passing the full stage of vaccination is not a sufficient basis for entering the country. See more https://mfa.uz

KYRGIZISTAN-Here the conditions are the same, except that the certificate of completion of the full stage of vaccination is valid enough to enter the country. If you do not have such a certificate and you did not have time to receive a PCR test, such a test can be obtained upon arrival at the borders and at the airport, but be sure to check the relevance of such a service before your trip. You also need to realize that, in the case of a positive test results for the presence of coronavirus using any of the valid methods on arrival, it will serve as a sufficient reason for the authorities to put you in quarantine isolation for 14 days.

KAZAKHSTAN-Kazakhstan remained without a visa regime for entry for many countries. The government canceled this rule for an indefinite period, due to the epidemiological situation around the world. Therefore, first of all, contact the nearest embassy of this country for information on obtaining a visa. Next, you will need to obtain a certificate for checking the presence of coronavirus using the PCR method no later than 72 hours before departure, even if you are fully vaccinated.

TAJIKISTAN - entry requires a negative certificate issued no later than 72 hours before departure. But this requirement also needs to be clarified with some airline companies, since the rules differ. The presence of a certificate of vaccination and a certificate of the presence of antibodies are not sufficient enough for arriving approval in the country. Also, take a note when planning combined tours, check the status of the borders between the countries of Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, since at the moment all elevated borders with this country are closed.

TURMENISTAN - it is almost impossible to get to Turkmenistan now, all commercial flights are suspended, but there is a certain category of citizens (citizens of Turkmenistan, accredited diplomats and their family members, employees of some international companies) can arrive if they have a certificate with a negative result (by PCR method), issued no later than 72 hours before departure and the most absurd thing is that regardless of the result, you will be quarantined for up to 21 days.
