In order to enter Tajikistan every foreign tourist must have a valid entry visa, to be obtained from the nearest Tajikistan Embassy. Tourist visas can be obtained upon presenting an Invitation Letter, duly approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan. We provide visa invitation letters free of charge within 7-10 days after receiving the necessary documents.

Tajikistan has a population of 7,349,145 (July 2009 est.) Tajiks who speak Tajik (a dialect of Persian) are the main ethnic group, although there are sizable minorities of Uzbeks and Russians.

The official and vernacular language of Tajikistan is Tajik although Russian is routinely used in business and communication. The Constitution mentioned Russian as the "language for inter-ethnic communication", but an amendment passed in 2009 removed all Russians official roles.

In Dushanbe, temperatures vary between a minimum -13°C (8°F) in December/January to a maximum 33°C (91°F) in July/August. Humidity is generally low. In the mountains, it can reach -45°C (-49°F) when the wind chill factor is taken into consideration, and rise to 20°C (68°F) in summer. In the Pamir Mountains, the climate is semi-arid to polar.

Most transactions are conducted on a cash-only, local currency basis. Major credit cards are only accepted at the main hotels and a few shops and restaurants. Local currency is Tajikistan Somoni. 8 Somoni approximately 1 USD.

Good lunch or dinner at best restaurants costs from 10-15 USD. Transportation: Public buses 0.5 USD for any amount of stations. Taxi which is very commonly used and easiest way of getting to the places: 1 km- 0.5 USD. First aid in any hospitals 5-10 USD. Tips 10 % from the order in restaurants. Tickets to the theaters and cinemas 10 USD max.

Basic medical services are available for tourists at local hospitals and clinics. Telecommunications services are also available from major hotels. Postal services are available at the Main Post Offices and in all hotels.
