Without a Turkmenistan Visa no one can enter this country. One requires a visa support letter from any of the authorized travel agents of Turkmenistan before applying for a visa. The Immigration Services of Turkmenistan keeps the right to refuse any visa application reserved. They are not answerable to any one for refusing a visa application. It takes about three weeks for a visa application to get processed and for a person to get the visa. On receiving the visa support letter from the travel agent the visa is directly faxed to the Turkmenistan embassy in the country for whom the visa support was applied if the visa gets approved.
The fee of the visa application varies on the length of the stay, the number of entries and the urgency of the visa requirement. The fees for the visa application can vary from US dollars fifty one to US dollars one hundred and thirty one.
The following type of information is required to file for a visa support application.
- Name of the traveler
- Nationality
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Gender
- Passport number
- Complete name and address of the present employer
- Designation of the present job
- Place from where the visa will be obtained
- Date and duration of any previous trips
- The duration of the present stay
- Exact draft of the places that the traveler intends to visit
- The place from where the traveler will gain entrance into Turkmenistan
- The place from where the traveler will exit out of Turkmenistan
- One copy of a valid passport
The Turkmenistan Visa can be applied from the Turkmenistan Embassy or Consulate situated in different countries. A maximum ten day visa can also be obtained from the International Lounge located at the Ashgabat airport. This kind of visa is generally obtained when a person has a connecting flight to some third country via Turkmenistan.
There are certain documents that are required when one applies for a Turkmenistan Visa from ones country after the visa support letter has been approved. These documents include two properly filed visa applications. There should also be a request from the Embassy to which one will be applying. The person who is applying for visa should be having a valid passport. The passport should be valid for a time period of at least six months starting from the date the person enters Turkmenistan borders. The visa applications should also have two passport sized photographs attached along with it. For filing a visa one also must have the visa support letter approved and should keep it handy for reference. One should also have a self addressed envelope if the visa is delivered by post. The fee is paid as the visa is collected.
