The Legendary Silk Road special train trip organized by famous German tourist company Lernidee Erlebnisreisen together with Turan Asia (Kazakhstan) and Sairam Tourism (Uzbekistan) has just been successfully finished. Its itinerary passed along the routes of the Great Silk Road - this ancient transcontinental arterial road connected the East and the West.

New tourist train passed through the territories of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan along the route: Almaty - Bukhara - Khiva - Samarkand - Chimkent - Issy-Kul - Bishkek - Almaty.

Tourists from Germany and Switzerland had made a fascinating trip on the railway. The guests enjoyed very much the way how the dining cars had been decorated in traditional oriental style. As a decor elements of yurt decorations, music instruments, uzbek khan atlas were used. Everyone too much enjoyed the tasting of Uzbek and Kazakh wines and vodka as well as caviar. Over the air the tourists were told about Central Asian countries through the territories of which route lay through as well as about customs and traditions of region. The tourists got acquainted with ancient Uzbek cities Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, had a boat trip on the Kyrgyz lake Issy-Kul, went for a walk in the evening Bishkek, visited ethno park in Kazakhstan city Chimken, had a rest on the mountain stadium Medeo near Almaty. During the tour they had a possibility to see the perfomances of Uzbek, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz folklore groups. Farewell dinner for the tourists was organized in the yurts in the mountain restaurant "Kazakh aul"

Disintegration of USSR and opening up CIS countries have created new opportunities for travelling through the Central Asian countries. Further completion of the railroad construction from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Urumchi (China) for the first time ever had made the trip from Central Asia to China affordable to an average tourist. It means that the followers of Marco Polo can not only cross China by foot but also cross the border and head west by railway visiting famous ancient cities.

In the spring this year for the first time an international train had departed from Almaty via Tashkent - Turkmenabad - Seraks - Meshed to Tehran. Its passengers became the representatives of railways, and also border and customs officers through the territories of which the route had passed. In the course of trip, a number of matters on ensuring international standards of service of the train through the entire journey had been solved.

At present the tourist itineraries along the Great Silk Road lie through the ancient routes as it was in the time of Marco Polo. Now there are a possibility also to travel from Moscow to Beijing, have visited Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Bishkek, Almaty and many other cities of the Silk Road.
